Principal’s Report

Very successful Catholic School’s Week and Grandparents’ Day
NEPS Psychologist was in the school
Parents Association meeting to review policy on division of classes
On Wednesday 28th we had a lovely simple First Confession for the 2nd class pupils
Intel Mini Scientist Final was held in Kildare on 11th of March 2024. Our 4th class girls Emma Stritch, Hannah Touhy, Sadhbh Kelly and Nolie Mai Waldron won best project book
On 15th of March we had our Mass Gaelach and Céilí sa Chlós. School raised 798€ for Milford Hospice in memory of Declan Bromell

Meeting:

The policy on Division of Classes was discussed at length. The Board passed the policy.
New Pupil Intake: New pupil intake was discussed. Closing date for return of acceptance is 28th of March 2024
Declaration form was signed by Jennifer
Solar Panel Installation: Application has been made to the Department for funding for solar panels
Update on SNU Building: The building is now at roof level and the plumbers are in laying the pipes. Work is progressing
Susan distributed the Governance manuals.

Principal’s Report

NCSE behaviour Advisor coming to visit Marcella, Nuala and Ger
NEPS Psychologist Richard Egan cancelled his visit and will reschedule
School closed on the 23rd of January for new primary maths curriculum inservice
Liz will be teaching Italian to 3rd 4th 5th and 6th classes as part of the say yes to languages programme we got a grant to pay for this.
Catholic Schools Week is 22nd of January
Grandparents day is 9th of February at 10am

Meeting:

Declaration form was signed by Kieran
It was decided that the treasurer position would be shared. Matt for years 1and 2 and Michelle for years 2 and 3
Susan updated the schools position on the solar panel grant. Susan is working at the moment on getting quotes in. Susan also said that the grant we got will not supply enough panels for the size of the school. Board agreed that this will have to be examined ie would it be an idea for the BoM to fund extra panels from the school account.
SNU Building: Susan reported that we are now starting the roof, Susan had a site meeting with Richard Rice on Tuesday and new date for completion is June.

Opening Prayer
The board members sat and discussed at length suggestions that were brought to the board with regard to the 2 community representatives. The board members unanimously agreed on Dr Kieran Hughes and Ms Jennifer Curtin. Both were contacted by Mary Frost and were delighted to come on board.
