About Us
|
St John’s NS is a Catholic co-educational primary school is the parish of Cratloe nestled on the edge of the famous Cratloe Woods in south east Clare. We have 13 class teachers plus two ASD classes with a large support staff of SE teachers and SNAs. The school has continued to grow over the years from the first permanent building way back in 1849 (now the local Community Hall), to a four teacher school built in 1965 (now the local shop), to the present school completed in 1980. A further extension was added in October 2014 to cater for the growing population and popularity of the school and our long awaited specialty ASD unit was opened in 2024. At present 290 pupils attend the school and this number is growing all the time.
In Cratloe school, we have a rich tradition of music, song, drama, sport and academia. We encourage growth and learning with personal development within the catholic ethos of the school all the while taking full advantage of our idyllic location and learning in nature as much as possible. |
